Our Nation is different because we are a Nation of Laws. People want to come here because they like the idea of equal justice, something missing in most other countries. Your rights do not depend on who you know or how much money you have.
Those individuals who have broken our law by entering the country without permission can not be considered either good or evil. They have broken the law and should be judged on their actions. That would be equal justice.
Some say it is cruel to separate families. They freely chose to come here illegally and knew the dangers they could experience by breaking our law. Deportation is a result of their choices. My compassion, or lack of, has no effect on the rule of law. A law is not compassionate. A law is just.
We will see if our Representatives ignore 70% of U.S. citizens who want the border secured. We want those who came or stayed here illegally to leave. We want employers who knowingly hire undocumented individuals to be heavily fined. No State or Federal government benefits for anyone who is undocumented, or if under the age of 18 can not prove at least one parent is in the U.S. legally.
